Facts about child abuse in recent times has become a thing of concern to many people all around the world, a lot of children have been abused to the extent that it is now a life threatening act that has kept a lot of people worried and angered for so many years. Most of these abuses are done to children that are defenceless, helpless and innocent, they are forced into doing things that keep them in an emotional trauma which causes them to experience longer periods of pain. Psychological researchers have discovered that mentally abusing of a child or negligence has a more lasting effect on a child’s memory than physical abuse does.
The effect of this act exposes a child to emotional danger and can mar the physical growth and development of the child. The act of neglecting a child is a dangerous act that exposes children to more psychological dangers in life. Most of these acts have found their way into all areas of life giving no respect to community, group, state, race, gender, culture, religion, ethnicity or personal incomes of individuals who experience it. Some of these abuses have been recorded to have fatal injuries which can be physical, emotional or deathly.

This is one form of abuse that we see in our neighborhood everyday. The sign of physical abuse often appears in the bruises, red faces, and fractured bones, swollen bodies resulting from hitting, beating slapping and all sorts of physical abuse. These are a few from the numerous signs of child abuse that occurs on a daily basis.
<b>Sexual Abuse</b>
This category is one of the most corrupted forms of abusing a child due to the fact that it happens mostly in secret places where it is hardly noticeable and can cause a lot of psychological trauma for a child. Sexual abuse is not only focused on sexual intercourse but also encompasses a wider range of indecent acts like fondling with a child’s private part, kissing, hugging and so many others.
<b>Neglect</b>
This facts about child abuse e are categorised in two ways and they are intentional and unintentional. It is the act of denying a child the to basic child care and amenities like cloths, shelter, food and proper hygiene or healthcare. This act can be intentional when a parent personally decides to punish a child for offences committed with conscious action that is channeled towards hurting the child. But it is non-intentional when a parent has no sufficient finance to take care of the family. This can sometime lead to lack of cloths, shelter and food. So far, this is one of the only abuse that a child suffers from without displaying any visible signs but still suffers from its psychological effect.
It is imperative that as productive members of the community in which we live, we must learn to observe these facts about child abuse and find ways to prevent or totally annihilate its recurrence from the society.
